The gift inscription is on the front endpaper. ![]() It was given as a gift by a teacher or librarian in 1980. It has Morrow Eagle Library Edition on the rear cover. ![]() This copy has the sturdy library binding issued by the publisher, but it was never owned by a library. It was a very popular book, but most hardcover copies went to libraries. It is at the very least, an early printing. Baumgarten states that the first printing point is the date on the title page. There is a code 14 on the copyright page, but it doesn't indicate that it is a print number. There is no price on the jacket, but editions issued for libraries often don't have prices or printing information even if they were issued at the same time as the trade first. This has green cloth covers with the original jacket. ![]()
